StumbleUpon. Pointless Surfing on the Internet…Its Fun!

I’ve recently discovered a fun tool that can add some enjoyment, and possibly more, to your web surfing experience. It is named, StumbleUpon.com. Here is how it works. Go to the web site www.stumbleupon.com, and sign up for a free account. After signing up, you’ll be given an opportunity to select various categories that are of interest to you. Here is one of my categories.

Once you’ve set up all your interests, and have saved them, the fun begins. You’ll notice on your web browser that there is a “stumbleupon” toolbar.

Whenever you click on the left most icon, that is named (appropriately) “StumbleUpon”, you’ll be taken to some random web site that is of “interest” to you. If you really like it, click on the “Thumbs Up” icon. StumbleUpon will remember it in its own Favorites. Don’t like it at all? Click the Thumbs Down and StumbleUpon will not go there again. Now before judging this as lame or a waste of time, try it. What I found out is that there are a lot of web sites out there that I have never heard of nor have seen that really ARE of interest to me.
